Title: "Revealing ancient aqueous environments from Martian surface mineralogy".
The talk will cover origins of observed clay minerals, salts and oxides, timing and geological environments of their formation, formation of weathering profiles, fluid composition and pH, migration of subsurface fluids and their evaporation in spring-sourced lakes, oxidation-reduction processes, and sources of metabolic energy for putative organisms.
Seminars are hosted by the ASU ''Follow the Elements'' Astrobiology team on Wednesdays at 9AM Pacific time.
