Thanks Kaleb! We'll certainly chat about the habitability of the Martian surface. Perchlorates are such strong oxidizers (like hydrogen peroxide) that biology would be severely stressed. Great question! Remind me during the event if somehow we don't address it.

I was wondering if she could weigh in on the recent Centre for Astrobiology research from Edinburgh, where they found that salt compounds in the martian soil contain large amounts of UV radiation to kill perchlorates in the soils, thereby making it much more difficult to grow bacteria on the Red Planet?
