"I'm a Scientist, Get Met Out of Here" looking for scientists for their March Outreach Event!

I’m a Scientist, Get me out of here is an online public engagement event that gets scientists talking to school students all over the UK.

For two weeks at a time, scientists answer students’ questions and engage directly with them in live text-based chats. Students vote for their favourite scientist to win £500 to spend on further public engagement.

From 9th to 20th March they will be running 10 themed science zones (i.e. Evolution Zone, Particle Physics Zone…), and 4 general science zones with a mix of scientists from different fields. You can see a list here: imascientist.org.uk/2014/12/march-2015-zones

If you are up for the challenge, read more info and apply to take part before January 26th:imascientist.org.uk/scientists

Most scientists spend 2 hours a day on the event; half of which can be during the evening, outside of the work day. In return, they develop their communication skills, gain a fresh perspective on their work, and find out what young people think about science and the role of scientists. And all this, without leaving their desks!
